Writer and novelist represented by David Headley at DHH Literary Agency. My second novel ‘The Darlings of the Asylum‘, was published by HarperCollins on 8th December 2022. My debut novel ‘Wrecker’ was published in 2018.
I’ve worked as an editor of magazines and websites on topics including workplace issues and general practice. I studied English Literature at Goldsmiths College, London.
I played saxophone for years and occasionally guitar and, for a brief spell, the trombone. I like music from every continent and all periods of history, including folk, jazz, Americana, early music, classical music and pop. Other interests include art, photograpy (you can see my pictures on Flickr), film, vegan cooking, learning Spanish and walking in town or country.
I read widely, including fiction from different historical periods and non-fiction on subjects including nature, politics, history and the arts.
I live in Sheffield. I am involved in local activism with the Green Party.
Noel? This is THE Noel O’Reilly right? My best mate at school (St Marks RC Comp, Harlow).
Noel, please email me and we can get into a bit of correspondence and hopefully meet up sometime soon.
Love wrecker I am constantly looking for a follow up book it’s the one dumaurier like listed book that I have ever loved. Please write another soon not 3 1/2 years.
Thanks Nicola, that’s greatly appreciated. I’m working on a book at the moment and my editor’s about to look at the second draft – or at least the first part. It’s not set in Cornwall but Du Maurier is certainly an inspiration. Hopefully it will come out within the next year but we live in uncertain times. All the best, Noel
